Who are you?
My name is Evan Shaw, I’m a licensed independent insurance broker and I’ve been working exclusively with Medicare plans for over eight years. I’m based in Seattle, but I work with folks all over the country. I developed the Medicare Mind website and Facebook page to educate people about Medicare, and make it easier for me to connect with current and prospective clients.
NOTHING’S REALLY FREE. HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY?
I work with many different insurance companies which pay me a commission when I help a client enroll in one of their plans, and a smaller renewal commission for each year the client stays on the plan. Medicare sets the commission rates that the companies are allowed to pay, so I get paid about the same no matter which company or plan you choose to enroll in. This means I have no reason to steer you towards any one plan over another. My only incentive is to help you find a plan you’ll be happy with for many years to come.
You’ll pay the exact same premium and receive the exact same benefits whether you enroll with me or sign up directly with an insurance company. There are no hidden fees.

Keeping your personal information secure is something I take very seriously. I follow cyber security best practices that are beyond the industry standard. All the information you submit on this website is transmitted securely and stored on cloud-based servers secured with encrypted passwords and two-factor authentication.
